I am Joel Newton and I was appointed to serve on Edgewater City Council in 2024. I am now running for a full four year term. Our family moved to Edgewater in 2012 and were drawn by the walkable community and diverse schools. Both our daughters attended Lumberg Elementary and Jefferson Junior/Senior High School.Since 2013, I have led the local nonprofit Edgewater Collective. I've devoted myself to building partnerships for thriving schools, businesses, and neighborhoods. Now our organization is focused on working with Latino communities all across Jefferson County.------------------Soy Joel Newton y fui nombrado miembro del Concejo Municipal de Edgewater en 2024. Ahora me postulo para un mandato completo de cuatro años. Nuestra familia se mudó a Edgewater en 2012 y nos atrajo la comunidad, con fácil acceso a pie y la diversidad de escuelas. Nuestras dos hijas asistieron a la Escuela Primaria Lumberg y a la Escuela Secundaria Jefferson.Desde 2013, dirijo la organización local sin fines de lucro Edgewater Collective.
